Newsletters 2008

January '08

Hello Everyone

Ive been kinda lax about the last couple of monthly newsletters and I want to apologize for that.  Its just been a very stressful time for me, but things are looking a lot better.

Just a short recap of the Christmas Party in Dec.  Im sure everyone had a great time and got their fill of all the food and desserts that were brought.  The weather was very cooperative making for a great day.  I want to thank Faith Wolf for doing most of the decorating, she really did a wonderful job.

We also had some guests with us this year.  There were 2 gentlemen , Bill and Roger, from the Ocala Metal Detector Club.  They are planning on coming again, and if I can remember correctly, they were going to let us know when they have a meeting so that anyone interested could go.

We also had a new couple to welcome to our club, Kathy and Steve.  They brought several trays of homemade Lasagna that were to die for.  Kathy and Steve also have a panning booth at a Flea Market in Oldsmar, Fl., not to far from us, that we should all try to get to on a weekend.

The big winners at the Party were Art Wolf who won a Bag of PayDirt and a Silver Coin, Mark Turner won the beautiful nugget, and Mike LaMarche took home the 1847 $2.50 Dollar Gold Piece.

Those of you who were not with us at the Party, we missed you and we hope your holidays went well.

As for the JANUARY 2008 MEETING, we got off to a pretty good start.

Jim and Duane were a little under the weather and couldnt be with us, but we made it through anyway.

Steve Martin, Fl. State Director was with us and had some information about different places to check out for gold.  We will be starting to make plans and dates for our first outing this year at our next meeting so please try to be there.  I believe that Mike and Jim are going to be making a trip to see about finding some different places for us to go.

There is also going to be a Gold Show in October the year in Gainesville, Ga.  The Gold shows are lots of fun and very interesting to attend.

Our February Meeting is going to be a POT LUCK, but we are looking to have it be SNACK FOODS instead of a full blown buffet.  Any kind of snack foods like chips, dips, relish trays, veggie trays, cheese trays, crackers, etc.  You know what I mean, nothing we have to go to a big deal for.  The club will be furnishing the beverages.

Meeting will be on Sat. the 9th at 9:00 am, Warren Park.

Drive safely and call me if you need anything.

Paulette
