Corn House Creek / Alabama Gold Camp outing: May 27-31, 2020
We are now signing up for this outing.  Please let us know what type of equipment you are able to bring with you to the dig.  We are planning on spending at least one whole day at Corn House Creek (GPAA claim).  This is a prime location to use your dredging equipment.  Even if you are unable to come to the meetings, you can still sign up by email. Reply back to this e-mail if you are interested in going.  Hope to see you there.

Lucky Strike gold dig outing: June 24-28, 2020
We are considering renting the plant for 2 days, preferably that Thursday and Friday. At least 10 dedicated people are needed to participate in this endeavor.  The cost will be approximately $150.00 each with ten participants.  The more members that decide to run the plant the more the price will go down accordingly. Using the plant is more physically demanding, so an ample amount of people are needed to help with rotation for breaks.  All the dirt you can run is included in this price.  This will be a total team effort. Please consider signing up.

•   OLD BUSINESS.

     -  Alabama Gold Camp / Cornhouse Creek outing was reviewed by Steve K. It was a learning experience since the Cornhouse Creek is below the dam, so the water level rises at different scheduled times during the day.  We found the website that makes the information available to all.  This will be used on the next scheduled trip this fall.  More gold was recovered from Cornhouse Creek than at Alabama Gold Camp in a shorter time period.  A good time was had by all.

     -  Lucky Strike outing is June 24th to June 28th, 2020.  We have decided against renting the plant due to lack of participants for this outing.  The plant will be used by the local gold club on Friday and Saturday so we can observe what it takes to run it efficiently.  Hopefully, we can try to rent the plant this coming October outing.  Its not to late to join us for this common club dig.  Come out and join the fun!

     -  Inland metal detecting is scheduled for August on a Saturday (1st, 15th, 22nd, or 29th) - Lou V. is looking into this venture and all suggestions are welcome, date to be agreed upon at a future meeting.

We were able to join the local Vein Mountain Miners Club in running of the plant during the weekend.  Our team of members helped run 20 loads of dirt during their shift which yielded a nice amount of gold per person.  This reinforced our idea to run the plant as a group on the next outing.

     -  Metal Detecting Lou V. says that inland areas are very scarce to find for metal detecting, so he recommends a beach outing instead.  We were discussing the possibility of having an afternoon outing somewhere around a 4pm time.  A few members were talking about camping near the dig to have a longer more enjoyable time.  More will be decided at the next meeting on this subject
