• WELCOME MEMBERS AND GUESTS.
- Meeting was called to order at 10:02 am by Les P., who was standing in for Steve M. President.
- Woody led the Pledge of Allegiance.
• READING / ACCEPTANCE OF PRIOR MONTH'S MINUTES
- Steve K. made the motion to accept the minutes as written and Dan S. 2nd it. All members present agreed to accept the minutes as written.
• TREASURER REPORT.
- Cheryl B. read the treasurers report, Steve K. made the motion to accept and Dan S. 2nd it. All members present agreed to accept the report.
• OLD BUSINESS.
- The monthly meeting will not be cancelled unless the meeting place, Warren Park is closed to the public due to COVID. Cheryl B. will call the park each month to make sure it is still open. If the Park is closed, Cheryl B. will notify the members when the monthly meeting reminder is sent out. Unless notified, the meeting is still on.
• NEW BUSINESS.
- The next meeting is on February 12 at Warren Park, 3406 Warren Park Road, Belle Isle, FL 32812. This will be a Pot Luck.
- There was a motion to skip the 50/50 and gold drawing this month. Woody made the motion and Steve K. 2nd it. The members present all agreed to accept.
- The next outing is Metal Detecting at Ana Maria Island on February 19, 2022. We meet at 9 am at Holmes Beach, 4000 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach, FL 34217.
- Woody will do a presentation at the February meeting on Fossil Hunting for the upcoming event in March at Peace River.
- Les informed us of the articles in the Gold Prospectors Magazine, on pages 20 – 24, you can find information on Vein Mountain in North Carolina.

- The club needs to decide on a 3rd outing, the discussion was postponed until next month’s meeting.

- The next meeting is on March 12th at Warren Park, 3406 Warren Park Road, Belle Isle, FL 32812 at 10 am.
- The next outing is on March 19th - Fossil Hunting in the Peace River, Wachula, FL. We will be meeting at the Walmart at 1484 US-17, Wauchula, FL 33873 at 9 am. We will then drive down to the river. Please see page 2 for more information.
- • Woody did a presentation on Fossil Hunting for the upcoming event in March at Peace River. He showed us the equipment that will be needed for Fossil Hunting along with some of the fossils that were previously found..

• OLD BUSINESS.
- The club needs to decide on a 3rd outing for 2022, Metal Detecting on October 22nd was proposed. To be voted on at the next meeting in April. - Mike B. attempted to rent the Pavillion for the December Meeting / Christmas Party, he was told to come back. - Bob G. explained how the camping / gold mining trips work for our new members.
• NEW BUSINESS.
- The next meeting is on Saturday, April 9th at Warren Park, 3406 Warren Park Road, Belle Isle, FL 32812 at 10 am. This meeting will be a Potluck.
- There isn’t a club outing for April but I have attached information on the upcoming LDMA Vein Mountain Camp Dig in North Carolina – April 22nd – 24th. This information was provided by Les P. who will be attending the dig.
- There is a Gold Show in Concord, NC – April 30th – May 1st at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center. More information can be found in the March issue of the Gold Prospectors Magazine.

- A motion was made to accept the proposed outing of Metal Detecting at Long Point on October 22nd. Lou P. made the motion to accept and Steve K 2nd it. All members present agreed to accept the motion.
- Steve K. made a motion to forego an April Outing, Bob G. accepted it. All members present agreed to accept the motion.
- Mike B. rented the Pavillion for the December Meeting / Christmas Party.
- Bob G. said the Peace River Fossil Hunting was a success. It was a beautiful day, the water was warm and they were able to find bones, shark teeth and several other artifacts.
• NEW BUSINESS.
- Steve M. proposed that we have an outing that is a Family Affair, it doesn’t have to be prospecting or metal detecting, to be discussed at the next meeting.
- The next meeting is on Saturday, May 14th at Warren Park, 3406 Warren Park Road, Belle Isle, FL 32812 at 10 am.
- The May trip is Prospecting at Lucky Strike May 26th through May 30th (Club outing) and May 31st through June 5th for any one who wants to stay the second week. Lucky Strike Campground is located at 251 Lucky Strike Drive, Marion, NC 28752.
- Orange Library Demo, still in the works. To be held in West Orange County, maybe in the fall.

- The next outing is May 26th thru May 30th – Gold Prospecting at Lucky Strike Campground in Marion, NC. The second week – May 31st thru June 3rd is not a club function but some of the attendees are staying for the annual Gold Festival.
- SThe July outing is Metal Detecting on July 16th. We will be meeting at 9 am at the big parking lot south of the bridge at Sebastian inlet. Those of you that are interested in camping overnight, a couple of people will be camping at Long Point Park Campground, located at 700 Long Point Road, Melbourne Beach, FL 32951 (just north of Sebastian Inlet). Go to brevardfl.gov website for more information. Phone # 321-952-4532. They are camping from Friday, the 15th thru Sunday, the 17th.

- The September outing at Lucky Strike was September 14th through the 18th. They were able to use the Plant this time and found 1 ¼ grams of gold which was split up between the members who participated.

- The October outing will be the Presentation at the Library in West Orange County. Mike B. did a visit last Friday, October 7th. We will be meeting Josh at 9:00 am to set up and the presentation will last until 1:00 pm.
- We need to decide on the Christmas gifts for the Christmas Party, Steve has pans, classifiers, stream sluices, bottles, and a few magnets.

- The Library Presentation at West Orange Brank went well. We would like to do another one in 2023.
- The November outing will be Metal Detecting at Hutchinson Island. We will meet at 9 am at the Parking lot across the street from Captain’s Galley, 825 Indian River Drive, Ft. Pierce, FL. 34950. Once everyone is there, we will go to several locations through out the day on Hutchinson Island.
• NEW BUSINESS.
- The next meeting is on Sunday, December 10th at Warren Park, 3406 Warren Park Road, Belle Isle, FL 32812. This meeting is the Annual Christmas Party and starts at 11 am.
- We will be using the items Steve has left for the Christmas party gifts which includes pans, classifiers, stream sluices, bottles, and a few magnets.
- We are also doing the White Elephant Gift Exchange for anyone who wants to participate. There is a $20.00 limit on the amount to spend on the gift. You must have a gift to participate.
- I have attached the sign-up sheet with a list of what is being brought for the Christmas Buffet. Please let me know if you are attending and what you would like to bring.
- It’s that time again to elect officers for the 2023 Board. You must be a member of the GPAA in order to vote on the Officers and to be an Officer. The following Officers have agreed to stay on for next year but anyone can write an someone on the ballad if they would like:
